What are the penalties for not wearing a mask? Various remedies suggested by the health department!
The Gujarat government will suggest various remedies other than penalties in the case of not wearing a mask during the next hearing in the Supreme Court.

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat High Court has directed the government to provide services to those caught in public without wearing masks at the Covid-19 Center. The Gujarat government had appealed to the Supreme Court against the High Court order. The apex court had stayed the High Court order following arguments by the state government. The Gujarat government had yesterday moved the Supreme Court seeking punishment of irresponsible people who do not wear masks for serving at the Covid Care Center amid the dire situation of Covid-19 in the state. The government argued that such a sentence was not possible. The apex court later sought effective measures from the state government on what else could be punished in the case of not wearing a mask.

According to sources, the state government will now present its case before the Supreme Court next week after brainstorming on effective measures in the core committee meeting to be held on Thursday evening.The apex court directed the Gujarat government to suggest other measures. The core committee meeting to be held at the CM's residence today will discuss what steps to take against non-masked persons in the state as per the directions of the apex court and what kind of public awareness campaigns should be organized.

According to sources, a list of these remedies has been prepared by the state health department. Which is as follows.
1) It is suggested to adopt a strict stance on the issue of masks with the help of local police. The health department has also suggested launching an awareness campaign through social media and an increase in the poster campaign.
2) If any irresponsible citizen is caught in public without a mask, it is suggested to hand over the responsibility of distributing the mask to others in addition to the fine.
3) The Department of Health has instructed that a citizen caught without a mask be given the responsibility of carrying a mask awareness board next to a security guard in public places like shopping malls.
4) It has also been suggested that the responsibility of explaining the importance of masks to pedestrians in other public places be assigned to the same person.
5) It is also suggested to hand over the responsibility of deciding what punishment should be given to any person caught without a mask according to his age and condition.
