A new feature will be added to WhatsApp soon. The company has started testing a new feature called Expiring Media. What is special about this feature is that once the user sees any media file like photo, video, GIF, it will be automatically deleted. The user will not be able to see it again.
WhatsApp's feature tracking website WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot of the new feature. According to the report, the media file sent through this feature will automatically disappear when the sender leaves the chat.

This way the new feature will work
This feature can be accessed with a dedicated timer button. The user has to tap this button to attach the media file in the chat. The selected media file will then expire.

Such media files in WhatsApp will be highlighted with a timer icon, so that the user knows that the file will disappear as soon as the chat is left.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is in the development stage. After testing, it will be launched for Android users. It will then be launched for iOS users as well.
